Charlene and David’s Wedding Story
I should start off by apologising for having not posted here for a while. This has been a result of being so busy with weddings, pre-wedding shoots and a short break in Budapest. Anyway, I hope to make amends with a few posts over the next few days.
Back at the beginning of April I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Charlene and David’s wedding photography at the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Luton, Bedfordshire.
The bridal preparations took place at a friend’s house and Charlene was positively glowing and radiant with excitement and anticipation for the big day ahead. Given my wedding reportage approach I love this part of the day for the whole range of emotions and moments it can throw up. There was a slight incident with the zip of a bridesmaid’s dress that just simply wouldn’t do up despite everyone tugging at or applying vaseline, etc. Eventually the dress was done up…but it had resulted in the bridal party getting to the Holy Ghost quite late…as is the bride’s prerogative.
David, who is originally from Dublin in Ireland, was waiting patiently at the church oblivious to all the drama with “zipgate”. Surrounded by family and friends, most who had traveled over from Ireland (and slightly farther afield), he was the personification of a calm, relaxed groom.
Being a Catholic service, the marriage ceremony was longer than most but definitely demonstrated the seriousness of love and marriage. Once Charlene and David were happily announced as man and wife it was off to a local park in Luton for a small number of portraits, before we then headed back to the Holy Ghost Church Hall for the wedding reception and evening entertainment.
Given the large contingent of Irish guests I think it would be a fair reflection to say the wedding reception was celebrated with much fun, laughter and vigour! It was a lovely wedding day all round, which is no surprise given that Charlene and David are such a lovely couple.
I hope you enjoy a small selection of their wedding photography which reflects their unique wedding story.
